Bruce A. Percelay was the Chairman of The Make a Wish Foundation for eight years and transformed the undercapitalized organization to one of the most successful chapters in the United States. He was personally responsible for the largest wish ever granted by the charity and transformed the Massachusetts Make a Wish Foundation into a model of success emulated by other chapters across the country.

As Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Bruce Percelay transformed the fledgling chapter into a highly professional disciplined organization that has produced a significant number of affordable home-ownership opportunities for economically challenged individuals in the greater Boston area. From a small rented office in a West Roxbury church, Habitat now boasts a professional team and environment which under Percelay’s leadership built the largest urban habitat project in the United States.

Bruce Percelay was recruited to join the board of The Nantucket Historical Association, at the time when its plans to build a new whaling museum had stalled. Percelay assumed the role as chairman of the building committee and took a hands-on role in directing the design and construction plans which resulted in the on time, on budget, completion of what is regarded as the finest museum of its kind in the world. The 28,000 sq ft. facility has won numerous accolades and has dramatically increased the profile e of the organization as well as being one the most important new building in the entire downtown area.
Percelay became Executive Vice President of the organization and served in that role for six years.

Based on the organization’s mission of helping inner-city youth achieve their GED through the construction trade Percelay volunteered to help the organization elevate their profile and fundraising efforts. Percelay organized the organization’s first major fundraising event at The John F. Kennedy Library and reached out to high network donors around the city to support the growth of Youth Build. He was awarded the Youth Build outstanding achievement award for his work.

Bruce Percelay is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Nantucket Cottage Hospital and serves as the co-chair of the institution’s building committee which will be responsible for overseeing the development of a new Nantucket Hospital. Percelay also led the development of Nantucket’s Whaling Museum and has had considerable building experience on the island.
